166th Van Wert County Fair Details Announced

The Van Wert County Agricultural Society, the managing organization of the Van Wert County Fairgrounds, is pleased to announce the schedule of events for the 166th Van Wert County Fair. 

The 166th Van Wert County Fair, which runs August 30, 2022 through September 5, 2022 will bring family-friendly entertainment to Van Wert, while also providing an opportunity to showcase and educate fair patrons on the hard-work and dedication the Junior Fair youth have put into their livestock and non livestock projects.

Patrons can pay for a season pass at $22.00 each, Membership passes for $30.00 each or daily admission of $8.00. All children ages 12 and under get in FREE. Admission tickets can be purchased online at www.vanwertcountyfair.com or in the Fair Office at 1055 S. Washington St in Van Wert, OH. Jessop Amusement, the fair amusement ride partner,  will have a wide variety of rides for all to enjoy. Ride passes can be purchased presale in the Fair Office. Presale one (1) four-hour session ride passes are $15, Mega Ride passes are $80 which include all ride sessions all fair week. 

Mike Poling, Fair Director, states, “Over the last few years, our Fair Board has worked hard to create an event-filled and positive fair experience for our patrons. One thing we’ve improved this year is communicating events and activities on the grounds. Thanks to a grant by The Van Wert County Foundation, we were able to invest in a new website and enhance our social media presence as a platform to share all events on the grounds all year long. On the website you can find Fair specific information in addition to other events on the grounds and a calendar to stay informed. Future plans include regular emails regarding events and updates.”

Grandstand events include Harness Racing, Cheerleading Competition, Tug-A-Truck, OSTPA Tractor Pulls, Saturday night concert featuring Girl Named Tom, Motocross, ABAR Rodeo, and the Demolition Derby. Grandstand tickets can be purchased online or in the Fair Office, prices vary per event. Girl Named Tom tickets are available through Van Wert LIVE and can be purchased during box office hours or anytime online at www.vanwertlive.com.

Patrons can also expect FREE Entertainment acts that will be at the fair throughout the week. Lined up for free music entertainment we have The Nelons, Masters Own, Trinity, The Booth Brothers, ACT 3 Band, Colt & Crew, Coby James, and Rhett Walker. There are many children’s entertainment acts such as Dr. Whiz Bang, Travis Mettler-Cracker Jack, Mark’s Ark Animal Show, Comedy Bob, the Jungle Island Petting Zoo, and the Circus SideShow. Additional free entertainment acts include Dueling Pianos, the WoodCarver, the Black Smith, the Monkey Grinder, David Anthony Magician/Hypnotist, and the BMX Stunt Show. These events are made possible by generous donors and sponsors who allow us to bring FREE entertainment to the community.

Additional events include a corn hole tournament, the OSU Football Bash, a Jeep Rally,  Old Geezerrr DJ & Karaoke and a car show. Throughout the week you will also find Children Serving Christ, St Mary’s The Assumption Catholic mass, The Forge Christian Ministry church service, Zion Church and more. Patrons can also expect multiple food vendors, businesses and other vendors in addition to carnival games.
