The Van Wert County Fairgrounds is an 96-acre property located on the south end of the City of Van Wert. On the property are several different venues ranging in seating capacity from 100 to 550+ and a vast outdoor space that offers versatility for your venue needs.

Things to note while planning:

  • For ANNEX & EMR Rentals, pick your time reservation carefully. You will need to account for decorating, set up and tear down during your rental time-period.
  • A $20.00 refundable cash deposit is required to acquire the key for the room/building rented.

Cancellation Policy

Our cancellation penalty is 90 days prior 50% of the deposit is retained by The Van Wert County Agricultural Society/Van Wert County Fairgrounds. 60 days prior 100% of the deposit is kept.

Policy update effective 10/11/23:

Liability Proof of Insurance: The Lessee, at its own cost and expense, shall obtain commercial liability insurance covering their operations which are subject of this agreement. Such liability insurance shall cover both injury and property damage liability and shall provide a limit of coverage of not less than $500,000 per occurrence for the Junior Fair Building and Dairy Barn rentals. The Annex, EMR, Commercial Building and Agricultural Building rentals require liability insurance that shall cover both injury and property damage liability and shall provide a limit of coverage of not less than $250,000 per occurrence.

The Van Wert County Agricultural Society needs to be named as an additional insured on the policy. The lessee is responsible for obtaining this coverage through their insurance provider as well as providing said coverage in printed or digital format prior to picking up the key for the rental.

Annex Room

  • All Day Rental – $150.00 / $75.00 Deposit
  • 4-6 Hours – $100.00
  • Up to 4 hours – $75.00
  • Additional Clean Up Fee (if applicable) – $100.00

Notes: This room is rented as is. Liability proof of insurance is required for this rental. See Building Policies for more information. Rental includes tables and chairs. This room is air conditioned and heated. Room capacity is approximately 125 guests. 

EMR Room

  • All Day Rental – $175.00 / $75.00 Deposit
  • 4-6 Hours – $125.00
  • Up to 4 hours – $100.00
  • Additional Clean Up Fee (if applicable) – $100.00

Notes: This room is rented as is. Liability proof of insurance is required for this rental. See Building Policies for more information. Rental includes tables and chairs. This room is air conditioned and heated. Room capacity is approximately 125 guests. 

Agricultural Building

  • Rental – $500.00 / $200.00 Deposit
  • Additional Clean Up Fee (if applicable)- $250.00

Notes: Liability proof of insurance is required for this rental. See Building Policies for more information. Rental DOES NOT include tables and chairs. This building is not air conditioned or heated. Room capacity is 200 guests. 

Jr. Fair Building

(Weekends include Friday, Saturday and Sunday)

  • Bundle Deal (standard rental, tables & chairs) – $1,700.00
  • Standard Rental (no tables or chairs) – $1,100.00 / $500.00 deposit
  • Additional Set-Up Day (if needed) – $50.00 per day
  • Additional Clean Up Fee (if applicable) – $250.00

Notes: Liability proof of insurance is required for this rental. See Building Policies for more information. This room is air conditioned and heated. Room capacity is approximately 550 guests. 

Dairy Barn

(Weekends include Friday, Saturday and Sunday)

  • Dance Floor Bundle (standard rental, dance floor, tables & chairs) – $2,000.00
  • Bundle deal (standard rental, tables & chairs) – $1,500.00
  • Standard Rental (no tables or chairs) – $900.00 / $400.00 deposit
  • Additional Set-Up Day (if needed) – $50.00 per day
  • Additional Clean Up Fee (if applicable) – $250.00

Notes: Liability proof of insurance is required for this rental. See Building Policies for more information. This building is not air conditioned or heated. Room capacity is approximately 850-900 guests. 

Commercial Building

  • Rental – $800.00/ $200.00 Deposit
  • Additional Clean Up Fee (if applicable) – $250.00
  • Auctions – $475.00

Notes: DOES NOT include tables and chairs. This building is not air conditioned or heated. 

Table & Chair Rental, Dance Floor

Facility rental is required.

  • White Tables (each) – $10.00
  • Wooden Tables (each) – $7.00
  • Brown Folding Tables (each) – $7.00
  • White Chairs (each) – $3.00
  • Brown Metal Chairs (each) – $1.00
  • Dance Floor – $600.00
  • Stage – $250.00

When reserving your space, please specify chair and table type, if needed. Not all table types are available for each building.

Additional Buildings

  • Sr. & Jr. Fair Horse Arena – $200.00
  • Pony Barn – $150.00
  • Sheep Barn – $150.00
  • Goat Barn – $150.00
  • Jr. Fair Horse Barn – $200.00
  • Additional Clean Up Fee (if applicable) – $250.00
